Cheviot Futures visited by top DEFRA official

29th, November 2011

Cheviot Futures has recently hosted a visit from a top DEFRA official. Audrey Roy, who is Head of Rural Services in the Rural Communities Policy Team, has recently visited the Cheviot Futures project staff in the Breamish Valley to learn more about the innovative landscape scale project.
Jennifer and Tracy were joined on the day by Tom Burston and Roger Wilson, Northumberland Uplands LEADER project co-ordinator and chair respectively, as well as Victoria Catesby from the North East Rural Development Programme for England team.
Audrey was particularly interested in the project portfolio and capturing the positive impact they have on the wider rural community. The Cheviot Futures riverside project and interactive display, both at Ingram, were also explored.
